Byron Juniors best in Australia
9 days of competition at the end of March saw Australia’s best athletes come together for the 2022 Australian Track and Field Championships in Sydney. Byron Bay Runners had 6 of our most talented athletes competing in both the Track and Field events over the championships.
For a small club with sometimes limited opportunities to compete the team performed well beyond expectations. Daniel Williams was the stand out performer coming away as the double National Champion in the men’s u16 800m & 1500m. Both events required heats and finals to be raced over the Championships with incredibly deep fields. Daniel is a huge talent to watch over the coming years.
Other National medalists amongst the team was Daneil Frey who is excelling in the field events, finishing with a Bronze in the U16 Men’s shot Put.
