Weekly Winter Sessions

(APRIL - SEPTEMBER)

Juniors

Primary school/beginner runners ages 8-12yrs.

Training venue: Cavanbah Centre track

Sprinters: Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-6pm

Distance/XC: Tuesdays 4-5pm

Seniors

Sessions are for high school aged students + junior runners competing at state/national level

Mondays 6am: HILLS

Meet at Clarks beach carpark for a coached hill session, suitable for sprinters and distance runners (coach varies the intensity and recovery). Must be able to run 3km continuously and 5km in total to participate.

Tuesdays: TRACK

Main squad day for all BBR senior squad members

  • 5-6pm. Distance Squad (NB runners who like a warm-up longer than 2km to arrive earlier by 4.45pm, main session/warm up will commence at 5pm, with drills at 5.15pm)

  • 4.30-6pm. Sprint Squad

Thursdays: TRACK

Aimed at runners competing at representative (state or national) level or for those that can’t make Tuesdays.

  • 5-6pm. Distance Squad (NB runners who like a warm-up longer than 2km to arrive earlier by 4.45pm, main session/warm up will commence at 5pm, with drills at 5.15pm).

  • 4.30-6pm. Sprint Squad

Sundays 7am: EASY PACE RUN

Senior squad members also have the option to participate in the Sunday morning Social/Recovery Run. Usually a mix of beach/trail/road between 6-10km (easy pace with lots of stops). Run locations change weekly; please check the club facebook page for details of start location and duration.

Mondays

6am HILLS. Meet Clarks Beach Carpark for a coached hill/stair session. Suitable for all runners (sprinters to distance incl. ultra runners). Open to all ages, but must be able to run 3km continuously and up to 5km to participate (we do take rest breaks!).

Tuesdays (Adults)

MORNING Session: 6.30-7.30am

A coached track session at the Cavanbah Centre. Suitable for all levels of fitness, for runners aiming to improve times over anything from 5km upwards.

EVENING Session: Warm up from 6pm -7.30pm

Interval training session. Runners warm up from 6pm (jog then drills) with coaches available to advise on suitable training sessions. Suitable for all levels of fitness. You can also bring your kids to sit/play trackside while you run.

Thursdays (Adults)

Trail Run: 6-7pm

Usually 6km (short) or 10km (long) run options around Broken Head NP. Check club facebook page for details of start location/duration of this week's run. Please bring a head/hand torch as runs are on unlit trails/roads.

Track session: 6-7.30pm

Runners warm up from 6pm (jog and drills) before main session starting around 6.30pm. Suitable for all levels of fitness, for anyone looking to improve their times over 5km or more.

Sundays

Social Run / Recovery Run: 7-8am

Usually a mix of beach/trail/road between 6-10km (easy pace with lots of stops) and coffee afterwards. Please check the club facebook page for details of start location/duration of this week's run.
