Yurrebilla Trail Race 2022
A fabulous weekend of running by seven BBR runners at Yurrebilla Trail Race in Adelaide last weekend.
The weekend started on Saturday with a warm up at West Beach Parkrun and then on to the Yurrebilla 28km trail race on Sunday. The race, over the prettiest trails in the Adelaide Hills was technical and demanding in the wet. It was very green and muddy after rain with glimpses of old stone buildings, koalas and fabulous wild flowers. Even as the runners struggled up the steepest, longest hill, the trail was kind. The runners were sprinkled with light rain and greeted at the top with the fragrance of wild boronia.

Danielle ran a blistering race with a time well under 4 hours. She ran with determination and had a very strong finish. Well done Danielle!
John makes good running look easy. He gave other runners assistance and heaps of encouragement during the race. Thanks John!
Sharon finished fast, hot on Danielle and John’s heels in well under four hours. She is an inspiration - motivating training and nurturing the team. Thanks Sharon!
Fiona keeps going whatever the distance, whatever the conditions. A good run! She is from Adelaide and was a great tour guide. Loved the “snake pit”. Thanks Fiona!
Jedda absolutely smashed her PB for her longest run. She laughed about swapped muddy socks for dry just before a major creek crossing. She finished with a big grin!
Rod took advantage of a long downhill close to the finish. He became airborne, came down with a thud but finished with a smile. A good run!
Mary had to withdraw before the race due to injury but was happy volunteering. She took wonderful photos of the event. Good luck next year!
See you all next year at Yurrebilla.
